RIWO specializes in industrial automation and control systems, from beginning to end. In order to keep their servicelevel towards their partners high, they’ve developed the Rimote Academy Module. This module helps service engineers, dealers and end-users to find information and instruction manuals quickly. As a result, they can quickly resolve malfunctions using 3d models.
The government stimulates the development of good ideas by SMEs by making subsidies available. In The Hague, RIWO presented the “Robot Meets Service engineer 4.0” project and the corresponding RIMOTE Academy Module to (resigned) State Secretary Mona Keijzer and (resigned) Minister Wouter Koolmees as a reference project for a new batch of MKB!dee projects. This also open doors to promote Eastern Netherlands and TValley as a powerful robotics cluster.
TValley: the connection between company, researcher and student
RIWO develops and supplies industrial operating systems for FeedR feeding robots. These tailor-made soil robots are used in the 24/7 dosing of fresh food in veal farming. The expectations placed on these types of complex systems are changing rapidly due to continuous technological developments in areas such as robotics, digitization and artificial intelligence.
RIWO and TValley researchers, together with students, developed in the TValley project MARIO (Modular Adaptive Robot for Intelligent Operations), modular building blocks for future feeding robots. A great example of an innovative TValley project from which the outcome is immediately practically applicable.
These kinds of innovations require a lot of competences from everyone involved. Following the development process, the operation and 24/7 availability of complex systems as this feeding robot, requires a lot from Service Engineer. That is why developing the Hard and Soft skills of RIWO employees, RIWO partners, dealers and end users is so important. RIWO, together with Total Reality, developed the RIMOTE Academy module in the project “Robot Meets Service engineer 4.0” to empower the development of the required competences of (future) Service Engineers.
